IMPROVEMENTS to the A38, promoting South East Cornwall as a tourist destination and how to create and retain local jobs are among the topics on the agenda of a meeting next week in Liskeard. The Liskeard and Looe Community Network panel meeting is attended by all the Cornwall Councillors for the area as well as representatives from the 18 parishes in the network. Members of the public are also encouraged to attend and find out about the panel’s priorities for the year ahead. Also speaking at the meeting will be Ffion Stanton, of the Cornwall Rural Community Charity. Ffion will be explaining how the charity supports local groups and projects with training and gives advice on obtaining funding. The agenda for the meeting also includes discussion on the Local Devolution Fund, and how this can be used by parish councils and organisations to help them take on the running of services and property. The meeting will be held at the Liskeard Town Council Long Room next Thursday March 24, 6pm- 8pm.
