TWO fire appliances from Liskeard Fire Station were called to mobilise for an incident in Menheniot yesterday (January 3) at 1.28pm.

The incident involved an oil fired rayburn in a detached bungalow.

A spokesperson from Cornwall Fire and Rescue said: "The crews used small tools, hosereel to extinguish the fire and gas monitoring equipment. They also had to use shack packs to attack the fire via the chimney pot." The cause is believed to be accidental.
