More information has been released about the tragic crash on the A38 near Bodmin Parkway station this morning.

Three vehicles were involved in a collision, police said, with four passengers, two of whom were trapped in the wreckage.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service crews from Bodmin and Wadebridge used crash rescue equipment at the scene to release the casualties, who were taken to Derriford Hospital.

Sadly, one person has since died and another remains in a critical condition.

Two other people are being treated for less serious injuries.

The road was closed for many hours while the Serious Collisions Investigations Unit worked at the scene.

Wadebridge Fire Station teams said: ’We did all we could to give them the best chance. Our sincere condolences to the family of the victim.’
