A serious collision left a motorist injured and caused rush-hour chaos yesterday evening.

The collision happened between Landrake and Tideford on the A38 close to 5pm.

Firefighters from Saltash and Liskeard and the rescue tender from Bodmin were all sent to the scene, where a motorist was treated by paramedics after being freed from wreckage.

The road closure caused massive delays that spread as far as Torpoint, where people were queuing for the ferry to avoid the A38.
