Police today revealed they are trying to find the owners of a horse and a pony which were found in Liskeard on Sunday (April 2).

At around 10.45am, Police were called to New Road following a report of a horse and a pony on the road heading towards the A38 dual carriageway.

PC Craig Powell from Liskeard Response, said: ’Both animals were thankfully swiftly located and safely contained. I would like to thank the members of public, including a 12-year-old boy, who were incredibly helpful in assisting us in the capturing and returning of them both to a near-by field.

’We are working with the RSPCA to ensure the welfare of the animals in question is managed appropriately, and are also trying to locate the owners.
