Torpoint Mosquito Sailing Club is running a series of free winter talks on sailing and related topics.

The Torpoint water sports club has dinghy and yacht racing, gig rowing, windsurfing and scuba diving sections as well as a cadets section for young sailors.

The talks kick off on February 9 when Vix Hill Ryder from the Family Foraging Kitchen will be talking about Coastal Foraging, on February 23 Nick Osmaston with be talking about the loss of the yacht Cheeki Rafiki and on March 1 David Parker, senior watchkeeper, will explain the role of the National Coastwatch Institution with specific attention to the Rame Head Lookout Station.  

All talks start at 7.30pm and more talks are being arranged for later in the spring.

As well as these onshore events, the club’s dinghy racing season starts on Sunday, February 7, with the first race of the spring handicap series.

The race begins at 11am.
