IT took a goal of sheer quality from Bethany Willshaw for title favourites Truro City to overcome a gritty Callington, which left manager Adam McPherson saying: 'We could not have asked for anything more from the players.

'They worked so hard and easily deserved a point for all of their effort and commitment.'

Callington knew that it was going to be a tough encounter.

But in a very even opening 20 minutes, both sides looked capable of breaking the deadlock and Callington came close on a couple of occasions when leading scorer Kate Bourn broke free of the Truro defence but failed to beat the goalkeeper from the edge of the penalty area.
