DIVISION ONE WEST Callington Town 4 Wadebridge Town 1 CALLINGTON Town completed a superb campaign with this Wednesday night win in Division One West of the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League at the Ginsters Marshfield Parc. 'It's been an absolutely amazing season as the aim at the start was promotion,' admitted player-manager Lee Beer, who, at 33, must be one of the youngest managers to achieve this level of success. 'We started quite well and had the points required by Christmas to keep us in the hunt, and the boys have been immense since then – especially in the last two months were we have really had to dig deep, playing two or three times a week. 'John (Fenwick) and I had to go out and find one or two more players and the squad really came together. To go 17 games unbeaten shows the spirit of the side.' Beer watched his side overcome Wadebridge, 4-1, but credit must go to the visitors, who did not come to the Parc looking to roll over and certainly made it a tough encounter.
