Callington v. Somerset

Callington played host to Somerset County Cricket Club, as part of the Benefit Year of visiting player Arul Suppiah, who has been forced to retire early from first-class cricket due to injury.

Callington Cricket Club also marked the occasion by officially renaming their New Road ground 'Moores Park' – in a tribute to former chairman Peter Moores, who passed away last year.

The Somerset side were led by Peter Trego – who played a season for Callington in 2002 – and he treated the large crowd to a feast of hard hitting, making a fantastic 99 in just nine overs, including nine fours and ten huge sixes, before being stumped by Joe White off Matt Robins.
