Plymouth Devils will be looking for a fifth successive Premier League home victory when they welcome Ipswich Witches to the St Boniface Arena tonight (Friday).
The Devils secured a convincing 52-41 win against reigning champions Edinburgh last week with recent signing Brady Kurtz, skipper Kyle Newman and reserve Stefan Nielsen all scoring 11 points despite the best efforts of Australian international Sam Masters and in-form German Kevin Wolbert for Edinburgh.
Ipswich will arrive in Plymouth with new signing Ben Barker. The Cornishman has had a tough few months, having parted company with Glasgow Tigers, and will be looking to cement his place in the Ipswich side with a strong performance at the St Boniface Arena. Alongside Barker, Ipswich have newly-crowned British Champion Danny King and former Plymouth favourite and track-specialist Morten Risager.
Team Manager Lee Trigger said: ’Ben has struggled with his machinery this year but no doubt he will find something that works on the track that he calls ’home’! That said, I feel we have a very strong septet especially at the SBA so we will approach this meeting as any other and will take a bundle full of confidence from our overturning of Edinburgh last week.’
