AFTER securing the Premier Division title in midweek – thanks to a 6-1 success at St Cleer – Pensilva went into last Saturday's match against League runners-up Saltash United with the pressure off both sets of players. The Ashes started the brighter of the two teams and hit the woodwork twice in the first 15 minutes. However, they broke the deadlock three minutes later when, despite goalkeeper Richard Rendle appearing to be fouled from a long throw-in, a poor clearance from Karl Gross landed perfectly for Matt Shapland to chest the ball down and volley it in from eight yards.
