THE sun shone on the picturesque Looe Bowling Club for its opening on the Easter weekend. The new club president, Gordon Settle, together with new club captains, Mike Field and Yvonne Toms, welcomed Shirley Coad, the Cornwall Bowls president, from St Austell. Looe mayor David Bryan bowled the season's first wood. He was accompanied by his wife, Annette, and, having enjoyed the experience, threatened to visit the club again on its special open day/recruitment on Saturday, May 2 (noon-5pm). No
