Three of East Cornwall Harriers’ long distance specialists were in action last week.

Ally Martin competed in the Cotswold 226 Triathlon. Despite carrying an Achilles injury Ally finished fifth female overall and third in her age category.

In Bolton, Rob Pick, a long time stalwart of the Harriers and the Cornish Marathon race director for years, took on the Bolton Ironman Challenge, a qualifying race for the World Ironman Championship.

Despite ongoing knee problems and never having competed in an Ironman Challenge, Rob pulled off an amazing performance finishing sixth in his age category after a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle race and full Marathon to complete the challenge.

In Dorset, Sharon Daw ran in the Dorset Invader Half Marathon on July 17 and followed that up on July 18 by running the Invader Full marathon and finishing third in her age category.

Sharon followed up her Dorset trip with an outing to the Kingsbridge 10 k on a hot hilly course, finishing third in her age group.
