ST COLUMBA and Torpoint had the boot of returning fly-half Ben Green to thank for their 22-5 RNEC Cup quarter-final win against East Cornwall rivals Liskeard-Looe.

Green – who has been out of action since the end of last season – kicked 14 points in miserable conditions as the Saints ground out a victory.

Unsurprisingly, it was a forwards game and the hosts got off the mark when Steve Lister crashed over for the opening try, with Green adding the conversion.

St Columba continued to put pressure on their visitors throughout the game and were able to turn that into points thanks to the boot of the returning Green.
