Club organisers say the recent spell of bad weather has given Callington Town an unexpected opportunity to carry out some much-needed work on the pitches at the Ginsters Marshfield Parc.

The East Cornish side, which has five adult teams and also supports three of the Callington Colts 10 sides at their two-pitch base in the Community College, have worked hard over the weekend to bring both surfaces back to life.

Working with local company Pitchcare Guru, under the management of Stephen Blatchford, Town Chairman Steve Woolley has overseen some surface work which will hopefully give the pitch new life.

He said: ’Both pitches have seen dozens of games in recent weeks and this can have a negative impact on the integrity of the grass but with the help of Steve Blatchford and his company we have now got two surfaces that will help ensure we get the remaining games played.’

The next home game on the main pitch is on Sunday morning when the Veterans host Perranporth Vets in the Cornwall League.
