DARREN Gilbert has vowed to continue as manager of Carlsberg South West Peninsula League champions Bodmin Town, despite the departure of his assistant, Lee Hobbs.

Hobbs was appointed as the new manager of Plymouth Parkway on Tuesday night, leaving Gilbert in sole charge at Priory Park.

But the former Liskeard and Saltash player told the Cornish Times: ’It means I will step up to be more involved with the players, which I am looking forward to.

’I’ve done it before and I can do it again. I don’t see it as a problem.’
