DOBWALLS’ dreams of reaching the Cornwall Senior Cup final for the first time ended with a convincing 4-1 defeat to Falmouth Town at Wadebridge’s Bodieve Park last night.

Runaway South West Peninsula League leaders Falmouth were red hot favourites going into the game, and the match was all over by half-time as they had established a 4-0 lead.

Luke Barner opened the scoring in the first minute after turning in a Jack Bray-Evans cross, and he then turned provider for Bray-Evans to make it 2-0 nine minutes later.

A long-range shot by David Broglino gave Falmouth a 3-0 lead midway through the half, and Bray-Evans curled home number four before the break.

The Dingos battled hard in the second half and managed to stop the rot, getting a consolation goal through Nathan Lang in the closing stages of the game which also saw Dobwalls midfielder Ray Spear sent off.Falmouth will now play the winners of tonight's other semi-final between Saltash United and Wendron United at Sticker's Burngullow Park (7.30pm kick-off).Full report and reaction from both games in next week's Cornish Times.
