CARADON Hockey Club have been named Adult Club of the Year at the Cornwall Sports Awards presentation in Newquay.

Club chair Carina Batten told the Cornish Times: ’This is a fantastic achievement of which the club can be immensely proud.

’Hours of voluntary time go in to making the club tick successfully.’

Saltash-based Steve Borlase, a teacher at Hillfort School in Liskeard, was named Disability Coach of the Year. He was nominated for his work with the Bodmin Dragons Ability Football Club.

The event is organised by Cornwall Sports Partnership.
