Callington warmed up for Sunday’s league match by winning the Cornwall FA’s women’s football festival five-a-side tournament at Cornwall College in Camborne where more than 15 Cornish teams entered.

The club entered two teams of five. One went all the way in the SWWFL level and won on penalty kicks in the final against Newquay Celtic.

They didn’t concede a single goal in open play throughout the whole tournament.

Callington Town return to action on Sunday after a three=week break when they entertain Alphington at Ginsters Parc with a 2pm kick off.

The Callies are top of the South West League Western Division with an unbeaten record and will look to complete the double having beaten their Devon visitors 4-3 last month.
