A SUPERB turnout of 22 boats took to the water last Saturday for the Ullman Sails Plymouth-to-Fowey Race, with a return race being staged the following day. An additional ten boats travelled up from Falmouth for the Sal-tash Sailing Club and Plym Yacht Club-organised event, held as part of the Cornwall Offshore Group Series (COGS). A southerly wind meant that only some of the fleet were able to set spinnakers on the way across Whitsand Bay, though all crews made it in to Fowey by mid-afternoon. Apollo again took both line honours and first place in the IRC, passing Mountbatten breakwater in just under three hours from Fowey.
