South West League

Western Division One

Callington Town 3

Callington managed to win this derby without five regulars due to holiday and injury, taking their unbeaten run to 12 games.

They also welcomed back defender and skipper Marie Wilson, who returned after six months out injured.

Kate Nicholls crossed for Jodie Shipton to head home at the near post and five minutes later the two players combined again with Shipton turning provider and Nicholls scored her eighth goal in four games. Shipton then volleyed the ball home to seal the win.

Callington Town now have three matches in which to clinch the runners-up spot.

The Callies face Cheltenham Civil Service in the semi-final of the South West League Bristol Soccerworld Cup on Sunday. They go into the tie on the back of an 12-match unbeaten run, which includes them being unbeaten at home, while Cheltenham, who play in the Eastern Division, have won six of their last eight games.
