PRE-SEASON FRIENDLIES

Saltash Utd 0, Tiverton Town 3

SALTASH put up a good display against a strong Tiverton outfit, who play in the Calor Southern League, without really troubling the visiting goalkeeper on too many occasions.

To be fair to the Peninsula Premier hosts, the main difference between the sides was that Tivvy had a cutting edge, and manager Martin Burgess was the first to agree.

'We were okay in the first half and limited Tiverton to just a couple of chances, but unfortunately that was the one department they showed more quality than us and they took those opportunities.'

Tivvy opened their account on seven minutes when Dan Smith's right- wing cross found Matt Wright unmarked at the far post to head home.
