LISKEARD kicked off their pre-season programme with a promising display on the 3G pitch at Callington Community College.

Said Blues manager Paul Blatchford: 'When you consider that five members of the side had never played with the rest of the squad, this was a very pleasing performance.

'It normally takes a few games for new players to blend in, but these guys looked as if they had been with the side for some time.

'Their attitude was good and fitness was superb and, to be fair, the players did all I had asked of them.'
