This is a response to the article in the Cornish Times (02.10.09) headlined: Views sought on 'Angel of the North' cross.

The planned Celtic cross will only be partially visible, situated in Elwell Wood at Saltash. It will lack the aesthetic appeal of the Angel of the North which in its elevated position can be seen from a 360 degrees perspective from a long distance. A better location, affording such a view, should be found rather than destroying many trees in a small wood that serves a useful purpose as a carbon sink adjacent to the A38.
