Preparations have begun for Callington's annual Gala Day celebrations. This year's event is set for Saturday, July 8, with events starting at 2pm in Saltash Road Recreation Park. All money raised by the day will go to a group of Cornish charities including the Cornish Air Ambulance and the Merlin Project. Admission to the event is free and there will be lots going on including a tractor pull, children's races, a magician, stalls and refreshments. In the main arena there will be displays from morris dancers, the Tamar Valley Westerners and the Callington Town Band. Following a small break between 6-7pm, the rest of the evening will see performances by local band s Bad Habitz and Jarca.
