A PICTURE showing Looe Island and the Eddystone Lighthouse was chosen as this month’s winning design for the cover of the Cornish Times’ sister publication Looe News.

The artwork was done by Faith Dove, seven, who attends Looe Primary Academy.

Faith came into the Cornish Times office to meet our mascot Webster the Bear and receive her prize of art supplies, including pens, coloured pencils and notebook.

Faith loves having horse riding lessons and says that she particularly enjoys drawing horses.

The youngster is also a keen dancer and took part in a recent Sheila’s School of Dance production for Looe Carnival Week.

The Cornish Times staff loved the way Faith had drawn a realistic and colourful depiction of St George’s Island, while including another important local landmark, the Eddystone Lighthouse.
