THIS week’s Cornish Times recipe, featured in the latest issue, comes from chef Gill Meller, who is best known for working at River Cottage alongside TV celebrity cookery presenter Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.

His recipe is for pork, bacon and mushrooms stew with cream, cider and parsley and he recalls first cooking it on board a fishing boat on a very cold day, and how the delicious smell brought smiles to the fishermen’s faces.
