I SAY well done to the committee of Liskeard Royal British Legion Club for having the courage to allow the use of their function room for the Ann Summers/male stripper evening. This must surely show that they are prepared to move with the times and let people know it is not just a place for the older generation. Having been a previous employee of the club for 10 years, I have worked at many functions in the upstairs room and seen some sights, including several strip-o-grams at the private parties etc (not much comment on those, only a good time had by all). I have also worked in the downstairs bar lunch times and evenings when there have been functions upstairs. The only 'disturbance' you may sometimes get is the sound of their music or feet on the floor above when they are dancing. You might occasionally hear laughter, so what, it's the sound of people enjoying a night out, which is after all what you go out for. I will definitely not be going to the ladies night as it does not appeal to me in the slightest, but I hope that the ones that do go have a thoroughly good time, and congratulations to the Royal British Legion Club on trying to dispel the myth that they only cater for the 'oldies.' I hope this might even bring them some new members to carry on the good work that the Royal British Legion does.
