Spirits have been high in Looe this week as the town's annual carnival got under way.

The weather stayed dry on the opening day for the vintage rally and car boot sale at West Wayland, which attracted big crowds.

President of the Lions Club of Looe Jonathan Norgett said: 'It is going very well, we had a very successful start.

'We had a bumper turnout for the rally and car boot sale on Sunday and there was a good turnout on Monday night for the floral dance and royalty choosing.'

There have been a wide range of activities taking place throughout the week, all building to the main parade which takes place tomorrow, bringing the carnival to an end.
