AS World Cup fever grips the nation, people are being encouraged to take part in 'Wear A Sports Shirt Day' today. Organiser Julian Chenery said: 'It's basically a simple concept where people are asked to wear a sports shirt of any description and, for doing so, donate a sports shirt or other item of sportswear or equipment. Any sports-related items will be accepted. 'There are four charities involved in the day – KitAid, Kits4Causes, SOS Kit Aid and St Luke's Hospice, Plymouth. 'All donated items will be put to good use and will make a difference in somebody's life.' Julian said that businesses, schools, pubs and organisations are supporting the day. He said that the three specialist kit charities supply donated equipment to children and young people in Africa and other parts of the developing world plus where it is needed at home.   If you want to take part, contact Julian on 07450 005410.
