FAMILIES linked to Saltash’s Waterside have been invited to a special gathering.

Watersider Bern Stewart explained: ‘Saltash Waterside is steeped in history and many years ago was a thriving community in  itself. 

‘Just casually recently I posted on Facebook that it might be a good idea to gather at the Waterside with families associated with the area over the years attending. 

‘I had a really good response.

‘There are so many names associated with the area from the salmon fishing days and more - names like the Jewitts, Rossiters, Keiths, Dunsfords, Screeches, Lanyons, Wilkinsons, Pattersons and many more.

‘So we are meeting there on Saturday, September 30 at 1pm outside the Union Inn.’
