UNIVERSITY of the Third Age, a new group for retired people, was started at Saltash last week when a committee was formed. Dr Yvonne Oram was elected chairman with joint secretaries Dr David Lewis and Mrs Jean Shaw, and treasurer Mrs Vivian Lillie. Membership secretary will be Mrs Mo Kent. The group will meet once a month on the second Monday morning from 10am-noon. Varied activities, including lectures, talks, outings to theatre and places of interest, walks etc were planned at the meeting on Thursday at the Wesley Church hall. The future venue for meetings is to be decided and members will be notified.
