The Saltash Great War Commemorative Events Committee planted a beech tree at St Stephen’s churchyard to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of the Great War.

The tree was planted by the committee chairman Sue Hooper with the help of Rev Cathy Sigrist and each committee member.

Sue said: ‘Our tree planting is another of over 30 projects that the Great War Committee have undertaken on behalf of Saltash, and the committee felt that the tree in its longevity of time and growth, would underpin all our other projects commemorating long awaited peace and reconciliation and honouring those lost by all nations in the Great War including Saltash’s 144 fallen.’
