TRIBUTES were pouring in this week following a tragic cycling accident which led to the death of a popular mother-of-three.
Police say that Samantha, 32, of Trevanion Road, encountered problems with her cycle's brakes as she was pedalling down the hill, and then collided at speed with a wall.
She suffered very serious head - and other - injuries in the resulting fall, and was taken by ambulance to Derriford Hospital.
Police officers from Liskeard and Camborne traffic attended the scene following the accident, which happened at 4.15pm. Samantha's 10-year-old daughter was cycling with her at the time.
Family members said that they had been overwhelmed by sympathetic calls from Samantha's many friends, and expressed their thanks to everyone.
They described Samantha, (nee McKay), who was married to Andrew, and whose children are aged l0, 13 and six, as a caring girl who was known and loved by many.
A member of a large and close family, she supported Liskeard football club, which her father-in-law is very involved with, and avidly followed Dobwalls football club, watching her 13-year-old son play, as well as regularly cheering on her nieces and nephews in their sporting interests. The accident is being investigated by MPC Lord of Camborne Traffic. The funeral will be at St Martin's parish church, Liskeard on June 11 at 11.30am. Donations will be for the Intensive Care Unit at Derriford Hospital.
