LARGE parts of the A38 in South East Cornwall are at a standstill this morning after a lorry became stuck across both carriageways near the railway bridge at Trerulefoot.
Tailbacks stretched as far as Saltash in one direction, and travel advice is not to attempt the route.
There were initial conflicting reports that the lorry, a Tesco vehicle, had either broken down or become trapped under the railway bridge.
Motorists are experiencing extreme delays.
The problems have spread to the Torpoint Ferry, which is now reporting lengthy waits because of traffic avoiding the A38.
Meanwhile, in Widegates, the B3253 has been only just passable in both directions because of flooding between Widegates and the turn for No-Mans-Land.
