Saltash has been chosen as the most desirable postcode area in England by MSN Local – an internet site that helps people make the best choices about where to live. It was chosen for its low crime rate, stable housing prices and a school in the country's top 20 league table. Residents with the PL12 postcode 'have it all', according to the poll, which uses information from the land registry, the British crime survey and the department for children, schools and families. Talking to the Cornish Times, Saltash mayor Sue Hooper said: 'I am delighted that Saltash has been recognised for this award. We've always known our picturesque and vibrant town is a fantastic place but I am delighted to see this confirmed!'
