THIS year the Torpoint Panto Company has ventured into the Far East to give the story of Aladdin. Aladdin, his brother Wishee and mum Widow Twankey are struggling to survive. They can't sell enough of the widow's cakes and pies, and their new venture selling exotic adventure holidays is flopping! But they have a cunning plan. Before they can put it into operation, Aladdin falls for the Princess 'So-Posh'. He has plans to get rich and win her affections, but the evil Abanazer has other ideas for him. Needless to say, with help from two magic genies, a cunning plan and lots of help from the audience, Aladdin wins through and wins his princess. For the production, the group is joined by Viv Smith's Hi Kicks dance group. The pantomime takes place in the council chambers from Wednesday, January 24, to Saturday, January 27, at 7.30pm. There is also a matinee performance on Saturday, 27, at 2.30pm. Tickets are available at Alliance-Boots pharmacy, Dashers Bakers, The Garden Sports and Leisure, and Hi-Kicks dance shop.
