Torpoint Town Council is pressing ahead with plans to take on the running of the town’s library and other services. Members say they are in negotiation with Cornwall Council over the arrangements for taking on the library as well as the adjacent car park in Tamar Street. It also wants to add the running of the tennis courts in Thanckes Park to its portfolio and says it is determined to bring the ‘neglected’ tennis courts back into public use.
