Funk- fuelled rock and roll band Tankus the Henge has confirmed their return to Looe Live! for this year’s festival on September 25-27.
The London-based outfit are renowned for their eclectic repertoire and high-energy live performance and were hugely popular at last year’s event.
They’ll join rock legends Reef who were recently announced as the first headliners for the festival.
‘Performing on the main stage, on the Friday, Tankus the Henge are set to bring their famously hair-raising show – which is likened to a psychedelic, rock n roll octopus…only with four more legs!’ said a festival spokesperson.
‘Their music is wildly eclectic, ranging from New Orleans inspired swing to heavy rock riffs.
‘Inspired by 60s bands and artists such as Tom Waits, Blur, Randy Newman and Queens of the Stone Age - with lyrics influenced by 20th Century American Literature, specifically the Beat Generation and Gonzo journalism - Tankus the Henge defy categorisation.
‘They’ve built a reputation on unforgettable song-writing, spectacular live performances and relentless hard work – playing hundreds of shows across Europe and the UK.’
