NEWS is still awaited on the proposal by South West Water to close St Martin's Hill, Looe, for up to three months while a main sewage pipe is laid to serve the new Barratt Homes estate.
Works at the building site have already led to traffic lights with long queues since before Christmas. As a result of two heated public meetings towards the end of 2011, alternative plans, so the main route out of Looe can remain open, are being sought. Barratts has now advised the group 'Fight Looe Road Closure' and cllr Armand Toms, that it will be ready to meet them and other invited representatives from the town on Tuesday. This will not be a public meeting.
The development company has two suggested alternative routes to propose and says at this stage it is just awaiting an agreement from South West Water to these proposals.
