18 teams of four spent the day competing with each other in a game of bridge, a competitive card game. Playing in teams allows players of varying standards to play against other competitors of a similar standard. The electronic scoring system also allows teams to see their position during the day.
Liz Perry, Chair of the Cornwall Contract Bridge Association’s team from Helston were crowned champions.
This was the first event of this kind that Liskeard Bridge Club has held for over three years due to Covid.
Liskeard Bridge Club meets three times a week in the Public Hall.
Mike Smith from the club said: “We pride ourselves on promoting a friendly, sociable environment, yet with a competitive element, for all our members.”
Liskeard Bridge Club will be holding an Open Day at the end of January 2023 with beginners’ classes starting in February.
