With last week's hat-trick hero Jon Savigar unavailable the home side needed to dig deep to secure a semi final place in their divisional KO cup. Matches against Biscovey are always close and this, the first of the current season, was no exception.

As both sides probed for an early score Liskeard looked to have the greater fire power and Biscovey the more secure defence. The balance initially tilted towards visitors as they took advantage of a hesitant rearguard to strike the opener. Jon Shelley, the home manager's man of the match, then levelled with a confident run and firm shot. A second for Liskeard quickly followed as Joel Westlake's pace and control took him clear to score. Rumoured to be attracting big club interest Joel strode forward again, this time to be fouled at the edge of the area. No penalty, but no matter. Ross Westlake was on hand to slam the free kick high into the Biscovey goal.

On a soft strength sapping pitch the second half developed into a stirring mid field battle with all players showing admirable commitment. Prominent for the home side were resolute Dale Fisher and busy Jason Dunmall. Desperately pressing more players forward Biscovey were at last rewarded with their second, but there wasn't to be a third and it's Liskeard who go through'.
