This was Dobwalls first game for nearly six weeks which included Christmas and all its excesses and it showed.

The opening 20 minutes was a scrappy affair with neither side creating any scoring chances and the ball spending long periods in the middle third of the pitch.

Kane Wilson scored his and Dobwalls first goal of the new Millennium with a well taken shot from a low cross from the left to break the deadlock. Minutes later Joseph Kennedy picked up the ball inside his own half in a wide left position and drove forward, eluding numerous challenges until he was one on one with the Nanstallon keeper whereby he calmly finished to put Dobwalls 2-0 up.

The much improved Nanstallon side fought back and five minutes into the second half pulled a goal back to halve the deficit. Minutes later Matt Lindsay restored the two goal cushion after latching onto a through ball.

Dobwalls were now finding their feet and launched numerous attacks with both Phil Benney and Kane Wilson going close. Jo Kennedy scored goal number four after winning the ball from a Nanstallon defender just outside the penalty box and driving home from 10 yards. Shortly afterwards Lewis Freemons powerful drive was only parried by the Nanstallon keeper and Shane Ruark was on hand to stab the ball over the line to give a final score of 5-1 to the home side.

Man of the Match was given to Joseph Kennedy. Dobwalls next game is away to Newquay on Sunday 16th with an 11 'o' clock kick off.
