STUDENTS from East Cornwall were among those taking part in the seventh Outdoor Adventure Inter-Academy Surf and Activity Festival, held at Widemouth Bay, near Bude.

The event was the first major event for ARENA, formely known as the Callington School Sport Partnership, and attracted more than 250 pupils from six Cornish secondary schools – Saltash, Liskeard, Wadebridge, Bude, Camelford and Launceston.

The day saw seven competitions running simultaneously: boys' and girls' elite surfing, Inter-Academy surfing, cyclo-cross, beach volleyball and girls' football.

The event was supported and sponsored by Outdoor Adventure, Hi-Life Surf Shop, Circle One, Volcom and Ocean & Earth.
