Disappointingly for rail enthusiasts, contrary to information given to the Cornish Times before going to press, this Sunday’s scheduled run through South East Cornwall by the steam locomotive Duchess of Sutherland on the Royal Duchy excursion from Bristol to Par will not now be taking place.
Instead the historic locomotive will be hauling the special train only as far as Plymouth, and the leg of the journey through Cornwall will now be behind a diesel.
