Supermarket staff members teamed up to tackle a major charity run.

A small group of staff from Tesco in Callington took part in the Cancer Research Race for Life event on Plymouth Hoe at the weekend.

So far the store with the help of its customers has raised approximately £1,200 for the charity since the start of the year, through events including a recent ’pink weekend’ where staff dressed up in pink, raffles and sponsorship from family and friends.

Carrie-ann Bailey, community champion for the store, said: ‘It’s always an amazing event, fun as well as emotional, the rain didn’t change that!’

The store is hoping to get another team together for the Cornwall ‘Pretty Muddy 5k’ event in September to raise more money for Cancer Research.
