The Ashes' disappointment of missing out on the runners-up spot in the East Cornwall Premier League was tempered when they lifted the Supplementary Cup in last Sunday's final at Torpoint.

A good-sized crowd gathered at The Mill in the blistering heat to watch Saltash prove far too strong for their young Division One opponents. The game was also played for the Tim Halford Trophy, as it was with both Plymstock and Saltash that the popular manager – who sadly died at a young age – had left his mark.
