THELMA McEvoy has retired as secretary of the Ladies' Section at St Mellion after an amazing 13 years of dedication in supporting the lady captains, the numerous members and the club.

Thelma, herself the lady captain in 1993, has devoted much time and effort to help ensure the smooth running of the section, but now feels that the time is right to stand down and pass on her wealth of experience to new secretary Mary Brinsley.

In recognition of her years of service, she was presented with a photo of the 11th hole of the Nicklaus Course by Resort Director Stephen Towers and golf operations manager David Moon PGA at the Ladies' AGM.

She was also given several presents from the ladies including a watch, to ensure she is at the first tee on time; a new club, to help her beat the opposition; and wet-weather clothing... in the unlikely event that it rains!
