A South East Cornwall college has confirmed that a Year 11 student is self-isolating after testing positive for COVID-19.
Torpoint Community College has posted on its website that the student has been self-isolating since the afternoon of Monday, October 12, and school staff have contacted the Department for Education (DfE) helpline to obtain support from health officials.
The website adds: “A dynamic risk assessment has been completed by the health officials and the College is acting upon their advice. A small number of students will be required to self-isolate and a letter will be sent to their parents shortly.
“A remote learning provision will be put in place for those students to ensure they can continue with their learning.
“A letter will also be sent to all other parents with further details, advice and guidance.
“Please rest assured the health, safety and wellbeing of all our College community is an absolute priority.”
