Florence Road in Callington is closed due to an accident, snow and ice. The incident happened at around 7.50am this morning.

A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for the Liskeard area.

from 3pm on Thursday to 12 noon on Friday, February 1.

Snow and ice may bring disruption with a small chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel. There is a slight chance that some rural communities could become cut off and a chance that power cuts will occur and services impacted such as mobile phone coverage.

Pedestrians are being urged to go carefully as there is a small chance of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.

Liskeard fire crews were called out to a car slipping off the road in the Caradon Hill area due to snow and ice on the roads - no-one was hurt. A spokesperson for Liskeard Community Fire Station said: ‘Please take extra care when driving in the coming days with the weather deteriorating. Please reduce your speed, allow extra space between you and the car in front, check your tyre tread is good and pay extra attention to the conditions. Drive safely.’
